River is a troubled young college student, withdrawn from the world, and consumed by a novel he's obsessed over for the past two years. Unable to cope with a tragic loss, he succumbs to a cycle of insomnia and addiction, isolating himself from those around him.

Adrian is an up-and-coming artist already garnering a great deal of attention at a young age. Charming and effervescent, he seems the opposite of River in almost every way, but for the dark, often disturbing art he produces.

The two are brought together by a disturbing trait that they both share--something that torments them each night when they sleep. Driven by uncovering the mystery, the two come together to look for answers. But their curiosity may be lethal when they dig too deeply into the bizarre dreams that haunt them.
